The Challenge

Serve Club, a pre-seed startup, needed to build a foundational CRM / lifecycle messaging program to ensure a good product experience for their early users. They had dedicated product and engineering resources, and planned to build a data pipeline with a rich library of behavioral app events and user profile attributes - crucial building blocks for a successful lifecycle CRM program. However, they needed help finding a CRM platform that worked seamlessly with their tech stack, and they needed help deciding what campaigns to build.

Our Solution

We met with their product and engineering team members to understand their tech stack, and presented our preferred options for cost-friendly CRM platforms that they can seamlessly integrate with, are easy to use, and that can scale with the business. Finding a great tool is only part of the solution, the other part is building a pool of engaging emails, push notifications, SMS, in-app messages. To help them generate thoughtful lifecycle messaging campaigns, we moderated workshops to align on core metrics, user personas, and user journeys. We also delivered a competitor analysis and figma board with campaign examples to build a solid understanding of how other companies in the industry are engaging their users.

The Results

Serve Club selected one of our select platform partners, Customer.io. Customer.io can seamlessly work with their tech stack and is easy to set up. We created an implementation checklist tailored to their business to ensure that product onboarding was done correctly, and that the data and engineering folks had the resources they needed to be successful. By taking time to really understand their business through workshops and competitor research, we generated 30+ lifecycle campaign concepts, detailed with actionable information like segmentation criteria logic, and specific data requirements for the data and engineering team. Finally, we produced an easy-to-use creative production tracker to help them prioritize and project manage campaign deployment.
